Leslie J. Kuntar, a former Orchard Park resident and father of former Montreal Canadiens goalie Les Kuntar, died Saturday in his home in Ocala, Fla., after a brief illness. He was 73.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, he came to the U.S. in 1956. He served in the Army Rangers in Korea and later served in the Army Reserve.
He worked for Gaymar Industries for more than 20 years and was vice president of operations when he retired in 2005.
In addition to his son, survivors include his wife of 20 years, the former Ruth Sorger; his former wife, Irene; two stepdaughters, Kristin Sorger and Kelly Violanti; and two grandchildren.
There will be no services.
