Lawrence Kedron, of Derby, who owned and operated a tree service company, died Dec. 19. He was 55.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Kedron grew up in Black Rock and attended Riverside High School.
Mr. Kedron founded Trees Are Us, an environmentally conscious tree service with his late cousin, David Majewski. Following his motto, “Thin out, don’t wipe out,” he turned down lucrative clear-cutting jobs. After a near-fatal accident on the job in 2003, he passed the company to his son.
In his honor, the MemoRe-Tree Project has been established in partnership with Re-Tree WNY for a special spring tree planting.
Survivors include his wife, the former Dorene Lochren; a son, David; a daughter, Amy; his mother, Marian; two brothers, Timmy and Gary; and three sisters, Ronna Davis, Alexis McDonell and Lisa.
Services this weekend will be private.
