Kenneth E. Wasch, who retired as a product manager for Buffalo Pumps in 2008, died Thursday in Mercy Hospital. He was 70.

Mr. Wasch was a longtime resident of Glenwood and moved to Hamburg last year. He was also a seasonal resident of Lady Lake, Fla. Born and raised in Buffalo, he earned an associate’s degree in electronics from Erie County Technical Institute and began working for Buffalo Pumps in North Tonawanda in 1980.

Mr. Wasch was an active-duty member of the U.S. Army in 1964 and was in the Army Reserve from 1964 to 1970. He enjoyed golfing, camping, photography and traveling, and was a member of Post 527, American Legion, in Hamburg and Post 347, American Legion, in Lady Lake.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, the former Joanne Porpiglia; a daughter, Suzanne Zimmerman; two sons, David and Adam; and three stepsons Jeffery Nosbisch, Theodore Nosbisch and Scott Nosbisch.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Amigone Funeral Home, 6170 W. Quaker St., Orchard Park.
