Herbert D. Bull, a retired engineer, died Wednesday in Sisters of Charity Hospital St. Joseph Campus in Cheektowaga following a long illness. He was 86.
The Buffalo native graduated from Technical High School. He also attended the University of Buffalo.
Mr. Bull served in the Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1951 and was discharged as a sergeant. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, and on his 75th birthday, he was given the Korean War Award.
From 1947 until he retired in 2011, Mr. Bull was employed at Mod-Pac Corp. as an engineering assistant and scheduler. In 1981, he won a design award from the company.
Mr. Bull was a member of American Legion George F. Lamm Post 622. He enjoyed bowling and watching old movies.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Mary Jane Richards; and two daughters, Alice Upson and Natalie Kreppel.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Melvin J. Sliwinski Funeral Home, 5090 Transit Road, Depew.
