NORTH TONAWANDA – An urban farming cooperative called GroOperative is hosting a community fundraiser, “Taste the Future,” from 6 to 10 p.m. next Saturday in The Strand, 540 Oliver St.

In addition to a chance to learn more about the cooperative, there also will be food, live music and samples of beer. Live music by David Michael Miller and Friends will get underway at 8 p.m.

GroOperative promotes a worker-owned vertical farming system, making the most of space in an indoor, climate-controlled gardening and farming system by stacking plants vertically.
