Plans for a safe prom season will be discussed at the Teens, Alcohol and Drugs: A Community Forum from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tonight, April 28, in North Tonawanda High School, 405 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda.
Prom and graduation safety packets, pledge cards and information on resources will be available. There will also be refreshments, a chance to win prom-themed prizes, including prom tickets, free tuxedo rentals, salon gift cards and florist gift cards. The North Tonawanda Prom Boutique will have dresses on display.
Student and parents will receive information about how to have a safe prom and learn about the signs and symptoms of drug use and current trends.. A panel discussion and Q&A session will focus on the impact alcohol and drugs have on young people, their friends, families and communities, as well as legal consequences and more information about addiction.
The event is sponsored by Northpointe Council’s Prevention Education Program, North Tonawanda City School District, and the WNY Prevention Resource Center.
