LOCKPORT – Thomas P. Phillips, 52, of Payne Avenue, North Tonawanda, who said he lives in “a bad neighborhood” where “everyone sells drugs,” was placed on five years’ probation Tuesday for doing so himself.

Phillips also was ordered by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. to perform 100 hours of community service as part of his sentence for fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Phillips had pleaded guilty to a May 1, 2012, sale of cocaine to a North Tonawanda police informant. He also had been charged with selling diazepam to an informant Oct. 3, 2012.
