A man who allegedly stabbed a male employee at the Gates Circle Wine and Liquor store at 1432 Delaware Ave. about 7:30 p.m. Friday was promptly arrested by Buffalo police.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was arrested just before 9 p.m. on Delavan Avenue.

The store clerk, who reportedly was stabbed in his midsection while trying to confront the shoplifter, was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of what was described as a non-life-threatening injury.
