LOCKPORT – Seven people, five of them from Buffalo, have been indicted in connection with an April 9 police raid on a drug house on Pierce Avenue in Niagara Falls.
Two were arraigned Friday as the indictment was unsealed in Niagara County Court. Antonio S. Green, 22, of Hampshire Avenue, Buffalo, pleaded not guilty to third- and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Katelyn N. McPhain, 18, of East Avenue, Lockport, faces the same charges, except that her weapons count was in the second degree.
Assistant District Attorney Peter M. Wydysh told Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas that police found crack cocaine, a loaded handgun and “marijuana strewn about all over the place in about 100 separate baggies.” It added up to 19 ounces,
Indicted on the same charges as McPhain were Nicholas R. Russell, 23, of Falls Street, Niagara Falls, and four Buffalo men: Tyrone S. Bennett, 20, of Midway Avenue; Johaan A. Yarborough, 23, of Amherst Street; Daniel J. Johnson, 24, of Millicent Avenue; and Michael C. Ashley, 24, of Northland Avenue. Ashley has an extra fifth-degree drug charge for allegedly having hydrocodone.
