NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. – Work is to begin Aug. 18 on a $4.3 million renovation of the bus inspection facility on the Canadian side of the Rainbow Bridge, the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission announced Monday.

The project, expected to last until May, will add new floors, processing space and parking, modify the exterior canopy, move the boilers and shift the location of the Canada-bound currency exchange window.

Temporary bus inspection facilities have been erected, and the bridge will continue to handle Canada-bound buses during the construction project, spokesman Matthew N. Davison said.
