NIAGARA FALLS – The Tri-State Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation will hold an educational forum about the disease from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the auditorium of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, 621 10th St.
Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease that thickens the skin and damages internal organs. About 300,000 Americans have the disease.
Presenters at Saturday’s conference will include Dr. Janet Pope of the University of Western Ontario’s Schulich School of Medicine, on scleroderma symptom management, and Dr. Lee S. Shapiro, director of the Steffens Scleroderma Center in Albany. His talk is called “Scleroderma – A Vascular Disease Inside and Out.”
