LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls man pleaded not guilty in Niagara County Court Friday to an indictment charging him with beating up a woman on June 29 in the Falls.

Tyshawn J. Armstrong, 18, of Belden Place, denied a charge of second-degree assault.

Assistant District Attorney Ryan K. Parisi told County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas that the crime allegedly occurred two weeks after a Niagara Falls judge granted Armstrong an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal on an assault charge in which Armstrong’s mother was the reported victim. Farkas allowed Armstrong to remain free on his own recognizance.
