NIAGARA FALLS – The city’s new garbage collection/recycling program has yet to begin, and already police are dealing with problems relating to the recently distributed totes.
A Pierce Avenue man told police that the city-issued totes left at property he owns on North Avenue were stolen sometime Friday morning. The totes had been dropped off in the front yard of the currently vacant property, according to city records, and were apparently stolen sometime between 9 and 10 a.m. The totes are valued at $150.
The new program was scheduled to start early next month, but has been delayed because of concerns expressed to the City Council.
