LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls man admitted Thursday in State Supreme Court that he stabbed his cousin in the back Dec. 14.
Anthony M. Marino, 20, of 18th Street, pleaded guilty to first-degree assault.
Assistant District Attorney Lisa M. Baehre said Marino knifed Timothy Heinrich in an altercation at the home of Marino’s girlfriend in the Falls.
Defense attorney James J. Faso Jr.said Marino apparently was intoxicated at the time. State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. told Marino he would sentence him to no more than a year in jail when he returns to court Aug. 7, and may place him on probation.
“What you really need to do is to cure your temper, because it’s going to land you in state prison at some point, and you’re not going to fare well there,” Kloch said.
