NIAGARA FALLS – Passengers will be able to ride free on the Maid of the Mist Friday and Saturday during an extended New York season for the Falls tourism tradition.

The season was originally scheduled to end Thursday.

“This is an opportunity for us to thank everyone for the strong, local, grass-roots effort that encouraged, supported and motivated us to keep the Maids running for years to come,” said James V. Glynn, chairman and CEO of the Maid of the Mist Corp., who praised Gov. Andrew Cuomo, New York State Parks, the state Power Authority and others instrumental in the construction of the Maid’s new drydock and maintenance facility, which will soon be completed.”

On Friday, hours of operation out of Niagara Falls State Park will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
