NIAGARA FALLS – Former Niagara County Legislator Vincent M. Sandonato has been given one of the Republican Party’s three nominations for Niagara Falls City Council in this year’s election.

He replaces Timothy Hutchins, whose name was included on the GOP’s joint nominating petitions along with Robert J. Elder and Russell F. Vesci. However, Hutchins decided against running.

Sandonato, 27, who resigned from the Legislature during his first term in 2011 to attend law school, had circulated petitions for a spot on the Independence line. He is entering his final year at University at Buffalo Law School and is interning this summer with Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas.
