NIAGARA FALLS – LaSalle Pride Inc. will present a lecture on “Farms of Historic LaSalle” at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the second-floor meeting room of the LaSalle Library, 8728 Buffalo Ave.
Teresa Lasher Winslow, considered an authority on the former Town of Niagara village, will offer a PowerPoint presentation on the farms that defined much of the old village, which was annexed by the City of Niagara Falls in 1927. The farms featured dairy cows and harvested fruit and grains. The presentation will explore the owners and locations of the farms and what farm buildings remain today.
The public, including former LaSalle residents, are encouraged to bring photos and other memorabilia of old LaSalle, which will be scanned and returned to the owner the night of the presentation. For more information call (716) 283-3295 or (716) 425-4005.
