LOCKPORT – Two men were scheduled for sentencing Jan. 15 after pleading guilty in separate cases Wednesday before Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas.
Charles E. Griffith, 31, of Linwood Avenue, Niagara Falls, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was promised a sentence of no more than three years in prison.
Griffith had 0.138 ounces of cocaine when he was arrested in Niagara Falls April 2. Griffith, who has a prior felony marijuana conviction from 2006, must forfeit $292 police seized during the latest arrest.
In the other case, Cody J. Leathers, 20, of Lockport-Olcott Road, Newfane, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon for having a .38-caliber revolver June 5, 2012. His maximum sentence is one year in the County Jail.
