NIAGARA FALLS – More than 200 professionals are expected to attend the 15th annual Family Violence Intervention Project conference, scheduled all day Tuesday in the Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls.

The conference will feature trainers in state-of-the-art techniques to prevent and intervene in cases of child abuse and domestic violence. Keynote speaker Lundy Bancroft will examine the profile of men who abuse women and the resulting impact on children.

Bancroft, a domestic abuse consultant, is expected to say it is a myth that the children’s problems are solved when the mother leaves the batterer.

Robert Hugh Farley, a retired Chicago-area police officer who worked six years undercover among pedophiles, will talk about his experiences.

The conference is sponsored by the Niagara County Family Violence Intervention Project, Child Advocacy Center of Niagara and Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
