LOCKPORT – A man who violated the terms of his probation on a bail-jumping charge was sentenced to a year in Niagara County Jail Tuesday by State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr.
DeJuan R. Savage, 25, of Eighth Street, Niagara Falls, already has served about eight months of the sentence.
Kloch said it would have been more severe to return Savage to his original five-year probation term, but, as he told Savage, “It’s setting you up to fail.”
Savage was placed on probation last October after he pleaded guilty to not showing up for a Feb. 8, 2013, Niagara Falls City Court date. He was charged with crashing a stolen car into a parked van on Dec. 7, 2012.
