LOCKPORT – The third of three men arrested in a police drug raid on a Niagara Falls motel room Sept. 13 pleaded guilty Friday in Niagara County Court.
Robert L. Hilson, 23, who said he couldn’t remember his new address in the Falls, admitted throwing just over a half ounce of cocaine out the window when police showed up at the Caravan Motel on Niagara Falls Boulevard. Hilson admitted to a reduced charge of attempted fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and could go to prison for as long as 2½ years when County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III sentences him Sept. 12.
Two other Falls men, brothers James S. Smith, 23 and Lawrence E. Smith, 25, previously pleaded guilty. James Smith is awaiting sentencing on the same charge as Hilson, while Lawrence Smith entered the judicial diversion program after pleading guilty to third-degree possession.
