LOCKPORT – Carl R. Adams of Niagara Falls was sentenced Friday to 3½ years in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, for his role in a mugging in which $60 was stolen from a man last year.

Adams, 43, of Niagara Street, had pleaded guilty before County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree robbery. His co-defendant, Raco N. Black, 45, of Whitney Avenue, was sentenced in June to a year in the County Jail on the same charge.

The holdup occurred on July 15, 2012 near a gas station on 19th Street in the Falls.
