LOCKPORT – A man who is serving time in the Erie County Correctional Facility for violating a restraining order was arraigned Monday in Niagara County Court in connection with an Aug. 28 beating and robbery in Niagara Falls.
Markee D. Christian, 26, of 19th Street in the Falls, pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree robbery and one count of second-degree assault.
A man told police he was beaten and robbed of $2,000 at 19th Street and Ashland Avenue, and suffered four cracked ribs. In April, County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III sentenced Kenneth L. Graham II, 26, of Lafayette Avenue in the Falls, to seven years in prison for beating the victim with a cast on Graham’s broken arm. Christian was not arrested in the case until late March.
Murphy ordered him held in lieu of $20,000 bail in Niagara County Jail, once he completes his Erie County jail term Sept. 30.
