LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls drug dealer, arrested with 13 other people in a May 23 raid on a 19th Street apartment, pleaded guilty Friday and was assigned to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment.
Ray A. Harris, 27, of Niagara Avenue, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. told him that if he succeeds in diversion, his charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor with no worse than a probation sentence. But if Harris falls off the wagon, he could go to state prison for as long as nine years.
Niagara Falls police seized crack and powder cocaine, heroin, marijuana and prescription pills in the raid. Harris reportedly was caught trying to flush some drugs down a toilet.
