LOCKPORT – A man whose vehicle struck a pedestrian in Niagara Falls last year, breaking the victim’s leg, was sentenced to a year in Niagara County Jail on Friday by County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas.
Mark J. Brown, 44, of 87th Street in the Falls, is a Level 2 sex offender who also pleaded guilty to failure to register a change of address.
Farkas sentenced him to a simultaneous year behind bars for that.
Brown pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence in the wake of the hit-and-run incident Nov. 21, 2012, on Niagara Falls Boulevard near Niemel Drive.
He removed the windshield of his car to destroy evidence of the crash.
