LOCKPORT – Asad R. Hixon, who is under indictment in Erie County for allegedly causing injuries to five people by crashing his car into two other vehicles during a Nov. 3 chase by Buffalo police, appeared Wednesday in Niagara County Court to answer an indictment stemming from an assault in Niagara Falls.
Hixon pleaded not guilty to second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Assistant District Attorney Claudette S. Caldwell said police recovered a loaded gun when they arrested Hixon following the alleged attack on a woman Sept. 3.
County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas set bail at $50,000 for Hixon, 22, of Dudley Avenue, Niagara Falls. She said Hixon has been arrested 22 times since 2009.
