NIAGARA FALLS – Take a swig of roughly 60 different types of beer later this month. And check out a piece of art or two.

Beer from 20 different breweries, distributors and restaurants will be up for tasting at the eighth annual “Art of Beer,” happening from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center, 1201 Pine Ave.

Tickets for the event are $30 presale, and available through the NACC’s website, thenacc.org. Tickets will be sold at the door for $35.

The event is the arts organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, said Executive Director Bob Drozdowski.

“It is a very important event for us because it will raise the most money for us at one time all year long and this time of year it is very important because our operational expenses are the highest because of our heat bills,” Drozdowski said in an email. “It is also is a fun way for people to become more aware of the NACC and get a look around because we use both of our arts galleries and the event is spread over two floors of the building. It’s an inexpensive way to have a good time and support a good cause in the community.”

Participating breweries, distributors and restaurants include Flying Bison Brewery, Pearl Street Grill & Brewery, Pan American Grill & Brewery, Community Beer Works, Custom Brewcrafters, Woodcock Brothers Brewing Co., Chateau Buffalo, Mr. Goodbar, Alternative Brews, Certo Brothers Distributing, Try It Distributing, Consumers Beverages, Town Hall Bistro, Brickyard Pub & Barbecue, Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls, Buffalo Wild Wings, Wine on Third, Lindt Chocolates, Tim Hortons and the NACC Cafe & Artisans Edge.

New participants this year include Woodcock Brothers, Town Hall Bistro and Buffalo Wild Wings, said Becky Dyster, of Niagara Tradition Home Brewing Supplies in the Town of Tonawanda, a longtime organizer of the event. The company is a co-sponsor this year.

Tickets for the event also are available at Niagara Tradition, 1296 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda.

Admission includes a souvenir tasting glass.

Live music will be provided by Electric Rodeo, Lakeside Blues Band and Tony Petrocelli.
