Town of Niagara native Bob Koshinski will be the master of ceremonies for this year’s ninth annual Electric Lights Parade in the Town of Niagara, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 2.

Koshinski, who grew up in the Town of Niagara and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School, was a member of the WKBW-TV sports department in the 1980s and became its sports director in 1989. He joined the new Empire Sports Network in 1991 and was vice president and general manager of the network and WNSA-FM until 2005.

He worked as a media and communications specialist for Erie County and Niagara County Community College until 2012, when he returned to television as vice president and general manager of WBBZ-TV in Buffalo.

Koshinski also hosts a weekly sports program called “All Sports WNY” and created a website by the same name, www.allsportswny.com.

The parade will conclude with Santa Claus greeting visitors, and he will also be at Niagara Active Hose Fire Company, 6010 Lockport Road, after the parade.

A food drive will also be part of this year’s event. Volunteers will gather nonperishable food donations from parade spectators on behalf of the Community Mission.

The Electric Lights Parade is organized and presented by the Town of Niagara, the Town of Niagara Business and Professional Association and the Niagara USA Chamber.
