LOCKPORT – Four employees at Niagara County convenience stores were arrested Friday for allegedly selling alcoholic beverages to underage persons.
Sheriff James R. Voutour said the four were the only ones charged after an undercover investigation using underage operatives at 20 convenience that was conducted along with the State Liquor Authority.
Charged with unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree and prohibited sales were:
• Dawn A. Blair, 32, of Lockport, an employee at Kenyon’s in Lockport.
• Kayla M. Knight, 19, of Lockport, an employee of Manning’s Corner Store in Lockport.
• Russell G. Stewart II, 29, of Niagara Falls, an employee at Hyde Park Mini Mart, Niagara Falls
• Donald B. Snell, 68, of Gasport, an employee at his family’s Snell’s Service in Gasport.
The sheriff said Blair is due in Lockport Town Court on Oct. 24; Knight is due in Cambria Town Court on Nov. 5; Stewart is due in Niagara Falls City Court on Oct. 21 and Snell is due in Hartland Town Court on Oct. 22.
The sheriff said he wanted to commend the 16 businesses and their employees who denied alcoholic beverages to underage consumers used in the operation.
