PENDLETON – The slate of Democratic candidates in the town filed petitions with the Niagara County Board of Elections last week for an extra, independent line on the November election ballot.

Appearing on the line, under the banner of the Pendleton Tax Cutters, are Supervisor James Riester; Councilman Edward Harman; Town Board hopeful Eileen Czarnecki; and highway superintendent candidate Aaron Bair.

David J. Naus, a Democrat running for 11th District county legislator, also filed for an independent line called Niagara Tax Cutters.

The only other candidate in the county who sought an independent line in the general election was Saladin Allah, a member of the Green Party running for 4th District county legislator in Niagara Falls.
