Mayor Byron W. Brown will join the newly formed Western New York Coalition for Donated Goods in hosting the organization’s first clothing drive from noon to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Niagara Square.
The coalition will follow up by collecting unwanted clothes from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday to Aug. 29 at Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga. Drop-offs can be made in the parking lot near Sears and inside the mall near the Apple store. Participants will receive a Galleria coupon book.
The coalition – which includes Goodwill, the Salvation Army, Buffalo City Mission, AMVETS and Hearts for the Homeless – seeks to benefit the community and the environment by encouraging donations of clothing and other items that might otherwise be thrown away.
