The Buffalo Museum of Science will hold its 10th annual Star Lights event from 8 to 11 p.m. June 21 in the museum, 1020 Humboldt Pkwy.
The event is held rain or shine and features wine-tasting, rooftop stargazing through telescopes with the Buffalo Astronomical Association, entertainment by DJ crew Spooky Business and a chance to explore “Mummies of the World: The Exhibition.”
VIP ticketholders may enter at 7 p.m. and will glimpse the museum’s newest permanent exhibit, “Artifacts,” while Trattoria Aroma will serve exclusive appetizers and guests will sample cocktails from Lockhouse Distillery. In addition, VIPs enjoy free guided tours of the Mummies exhibit.
All guests may tour wine-sampling stations, sipping offerings from a number of Niagara Wine Trail members. Wineries will also sell wine by the bottle.
Osteria 166, winner of the 2014 Open Table diner’s choice award, will offer complimentary samples of Italian fare. Additional food vendors will offer free samples, along with products to purchase.
The Black Market Food Truck will offer an eclectic array, like arancini and Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches, while Frank’s Gourmet Hot Dogs serves up gourmet toppings for its hot dogs, hand-cut fries and vegetable or watermelon gazpacho. A portion of these sales benefit the museum.
Guests must be 21. All ticket levels include a wine-tasting passport good for one visit to each wine vendor along with a commemorative wine glass; access to all of the museum’s permanent exhibits and galleries; and admission to the traveling Mummies exhibit.
General admission is $35 for museum members and $40 for non-members. VIP tickets are $60 and are limited. Purchase tickets at 896-5200, Ext. 359 or visit www.sciencebuff.org.
