The Marilla Town Board has approved a resolution recognizing the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 17-17S as the negotiating representative for full-time and part-time employees that are motor equipment operators, maintenance workers, mechanics or laborers.
The total number of employees is five, according to Highway Superintendent Ron Unverdorben.
The Town Board approved the hiring of Greco Trapp PLLC to represent the town’s interests. Chris G. Trapp has experience in the labor field and public-sector labor relations. He will be paid $165 per hour.
In other business, Mary Furman has resigned as Conservation Advisory Board secretary but will remain a board member. In the meantime Sara Mochrie, also a board member, will act as recording secretary.
