Police advised to “be on the lookout” for a Rugby Road man found the suspect in a vehicle in his own driveway at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, and arrested him on felony gun charges.
Antoine Sanders, 32, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, all felonies, as well as second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
When officers arrived, Sanders was behind the wheel of a 2010 Honda and, although he identified himself, he refused to follow an officer’s commands, rolled up the vehicle’s window and got out of the car on the passenger’s side with a woman, Northwest District police said.
After a struggle, police handcuffed Sanders and recovered a small amount of marijuana and a loaded gun that was stolen from Lincoln City, N.C., on May 22, 2012, police said.
Sanders also had been convicted of criminal possession of a weapon in October of 2012, police added.
