TOWN OF LOCKPORT – A vacationing Ernest Road resident returned home Sunday after a warning from police, only to discover nearly $2,300 worth of property missing from his home.
Sheriff’s deputies said they went to the home after midnight to find about 20 young people collected there, apparently for a party. Several fled upon noticing the deputies, setting off an alarm and breaking a window in the process. Deputies were able to detain three people, including a 16-year-old who was subsequently charged with possessing marijuana.
The grandson of the property owner eventually admitted to hosting the party, and deputies alerted his grandfather as to the circumstances of the evening. When he returned home, he discovered damage done to the walls, windows and doors of the home, and missing property including video game systems, an iPad, a camcorder, some pellet guns and some prescription medication.
