LOCKPORT – The Lockport’s Public Library’s budget for 2014-15, including a 1.57 percent tax levy increase, was approved by voters in a referendum at the library Thursday.

The vote was 221-37 in favor of the nearly $1.62 million budget, a spending increase of $10,610 over the current year. Costs were controlled by not replacing two full-time clerks who retired in the past year and by slightly reducing the budget for materials by buying fewer reference books.
