LOCKPORT – A Lancaster man was sentenced Tuesday to six months in Niagara County Jail to start a 10-year probation stint for having child pornography on his computer in February 2013.

Jonathan Libraire, 32, of Central Avenue, had admitted to a reduced charge of attempted promoting a sexual performance by a child. Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas quoted a presentencing report by a probation officer: “The defendant was adamant he’s not attracted to young children. He only likes children as young as 12.”

The judge noted that of the 700 videos an FBI task force downloaded from Libraire’s computer, some were of children younger than 12.

In another case, John J. Troy Sr. 62, of Charlotte Street, Lockport, pleaded guilty to promoting and attempting to promote a sexual performance by a child.

Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth R. Donatello said Troy, who is to be sentenced by Farkas on June 3, was caught after a report by a computer repairman. Some 1,500 images were stored in 2010 and 2011.
