LOCKPORT – The town Planning Board Tuesday granted a special-use permit to Hibbard’s Custard for a new location in a former used-car dealership at Lake Avenue and Wicks Road.

Hibbard’s has sold custard in Lewiston for 75 years and once had a Wrights Corners location not far from where its new stand will open.

On another Planning Board topic, Walter Thorman, who has served on the board since 1982, handed in his resignation, effective June 30. The Town Board Wednesday promoted alternate member Adam Tyson to replace him for the rest of this year, and named Marie Bindeman, former director of the Lockport Public Library, as the new alternate.
