LOCKPORT – Davison Road, partially closed for almost two weeks because of a sewer line cave-in, will reopen to traffic Tuesday afternoon, city water chief Dale Lawson Jr. said.

Lawson said the problem isn’t completely repaired, but temporary measures will allow traffic during the holiday weekend. He said his crews will return in two or three weeks to repair another sinkhole in front of the 7-Eleven store, now covered by a steel plate, and an undermined area on the west side of the road. Lawson said his crews will be dispatched to other troublespots, including a new sewer collapse on High Street near Maple Street.

Meanwhile, Mayor Anne E. McCaffrey said Monday that Summit Street, which was milled this spring because of potholes, is currently being repaved. Next, McCaffrey said, Lincoln Avenue and Pine Street will be repaved.
