LOCKPORT – A seriously ill Lockport man was granted a conditional discharge Friday by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas on his guilty plea to illegal possession of a Taser electronic stun gun.
“You have the mercy of the court,” Farkas told Kenneth J. Ozimek, 45, of South Transit Road.
He appeared in court with an oxygen tank.
“My lungs are shutting down,” said Ozimek, who suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, emphysema, diabetes and other ailments.
Ozimek pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon for having the Taser on the Niagara County Community College campus in Sanborn Dec. 17, 2012.
