LOCKPORT – A man who was indicted on charges of stabbing a man and striking another with a baseball bat admitted to the stabbing Tuesday in Niagara County Court, a plea deal that also covered the bat attack.
Jason T. Clark, 39, of New York Street, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted first-degree assault. County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas agreed to a 12-year sentencing limit as part of the plea deal. She will decide Oct. 29 how long Clark will serve.
State prison won’t be a new experience for Clark, who served almost 15 years for a 1993 attempted first-degree robbery conviction.
The stabbing occurred Feb. 23 in the parking lot of the Big Lots store on South Transit Road in Lockport, after an argument that started inside the store.
The bat assault occurred Feb. 7 on Juniper Street in Lockport.
