LEWISTON – Lewiston Mayor Terry C. Collesano who is the Republican candidate for re-election in the June 17 village election, has received endorsements from two party leaders.
Collesano will be challenged by two independent party candidates, Jamie L. Symmonds on the Voice of the Village Party line and Jacqueline Lampman on the Lewiston Village Party line. Both women had sought to lead the Democratic Party line, but a snafu disqualified them. It was discovered that their party improperly filed notice of their caucus in April.
State Sen. George Maziarz, R-Newfane, said in his endorsement of Collesano that Collesano had “worked tirelessly to make Lewiston a better place in which to live and work, from improving Center Street and the waterfront to addressing community issues.”
Niagara County Legislature Chairman William L. Ross, C-Wheatfield said he has known Collesano for more than 20 years and worked with him since the Village of Lewiston became part of his district.
“I have always found Mayor Collesano to be available to listen to a problem and provide constructive insight on solutions to solve it,” said Ross.
