LEWISTON – Applications are due Friday for contestants in the Niagara County Peach Queen Program. The contest will be held during the Niagara County Peach Festival, Sept. 5 to 7 and is open to young women between ages 17 and 21 who live in Niagara County.
Applications are available online at www.lewistonkiwanis.org or at select Lewiston area retail locations and the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce. A full list is available online.
The contest will be on Sept. 6 and 7 in Academy Park. Contestants will have the opportunity to participate in events from mid-July through September. The program is designed to help develop interview and public speaking skills as well as encouraging community service.
Last year’s winner, Ali Casale of Niagara Falls, is a student at Niagara University and was the recipient of a $2,500 scholarship. She participates in community service projects and promotes the Peach Festival, along with the Peach Blossom and Peach Fuzz –youth female and male pageant winners.
