City must do better job of emptying trash cans
“Welcome to the city’s 311 call-in resolution center, where one call does it all.” Perhaps not. I walk my dogs on the path on Squaw Island south of the International Railroad Bridge in the direction of the Peace Bridge. The trash bins have not been emptied in months. They are overflowing with filthy garbage. The bin is adjacent to a lovely park bench. It provides the most spectacular river view. Who would want to sit there?
I have called the mayor’s 311 resolution center on five occasions. If Buffalo is on the verge of a renaissance, the mayor needs to examine how such deplorable conditions came to be. What department is responsible to pick up the trash on a regular bases? If we want to put our best foot forward to visitors and park users, it should be clean.
