Cartoonists and writer draw an unfair picture

Tom Toles, Adam Zyglis, Eugene Robinson and company treat us to outcry and denunciations predictable as clockwork whenever grass roots politics make a showing.

We heard the stink made during the Howard Jarvis tax revolt, Ronald Reagan’s thwarting of his party’s leaders (becoming a great leader of party and country), the 104th Congress, and current tea party successes.

Here we get to see great iconoclasts defending power and insider-ism. What a picture, once revilers of Lyndon Johnson now paying him the most effective tribute possible.

Personally, I’m happy to see anyone standing up for individual rights and open systems.

Guys, I’ll tell you all what Dana Elcar’s character said to Charles Durning’s character in the 1973 movie “The Sting:” “Try not to live up to all my expectations.”
