The Lancaster Farmers’ Market marks the start of its fourth season today.

The markets will be offered each week, on Thursday afternoons and Sunday mornings, from now through October. In addition, a combined farmers’ market and new garage sale event will be held the first Saturday of each month on Transit Road.

Grand opening ceremonies for each of the three markets will kick off the season this week.

The Thursday farmer’s market will begin at 3 p.m. today at Kate’s Country Cousins farm stand, 6183 Broadway. Twelve vendors will be on site, selling wine, jams, baked goods and more. The Thursday markets will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. and aim to draw families who are busy on weekends.

A separate celebration will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at 4913 Transit Road to mark the Saturday opening of the market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday also is the opening of the community’s first garage sale market. The Saturday markets only will be held the first Saturday of each month. Ten local producers and others in the community will sell household goods.

Then, on Sunday, a Sunday market will officially open at 10 a.m. at 4913 Transit Road. The Sunday market will be open every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 26. Thirty vendors are expected to participate in the Sunday markets.
