JAMESTOWN – The younger of the two Jamestown teenaged brothers injured when their bicycle and a car collided Sunday night remained in the intensive care unit at Buffalo’s Women and Children’s Hospital, Jamestown Police reported Monday.
The hospitalized 14-year-old was on the rear of the bike his 16-year-old brother was riding when they went through a red traffic signal at North Main Street and West 2nd Street about 8:25 p.m.
A Jamestown woman driving east along West 2nd Street struck the bike which was heading south on North Main. The 16-year-old was taken to W.C.A. Hospital where he was treated and released Sunday evening. While the accident remains under investigation by the Jamestown Police Accident Investigation Unit working with the assistance of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Unit, officials said the driver of the car driver won’t face any charges in the case.
