JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown woman faces three criminal charges and six traffic counts after she tried to run her car into another vehicle Monday afternoon while she had a 6-year-old child in the back seat, Jamestown police report.

Officers said Jennifer N. Bernard, 28, led them on a short chase after they answered a call about a domestic incident on Pershing Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. After she was stopped, police said they determined she was attempting to collide with another vehicle driven by a man.

Bernard was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated family offense, first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, failure to use a turn signal, reckless operation and speed not reasonable and prudent. She was taken to City Jail.
