Christopher H. Brown, certified public accountant with Brown & Co., and Anthony L. Eugeni, senior partner at Damon Morey, have been appointed to three-year terms on the board of trustees of Mount St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Center.

Brown graduated from Niagara University in 1977 with a bachelor’s in business administration. He earned his state CPA license in 1979 and worked for the international accounting firm of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. until co-founding Brown & Co. in 1981. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Most recently, he has served as board chairman and current board member of Artpark & Co.

Eugeni is a member of Damon Morey’s business and corporate department and chairman of the firm’s finance committee. He graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor of arts in 1988 and the University at Buffalo Law School in 1991. He is president of the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club board of directors.

Niagara University’s College of Education honored the contributions of educational leaders, counselors, teachers and community members from Western New York and Ontario at its annual professional recognition ceremony earlier this month at the Castellani Art Museum. This year’s award recipients were:

Dean’s Award, John P. Gleason, Class of ’73, president and principal of E.D.A./Gleason and chief gift planning officer, Empire State Division of the Salvation Army; Educational Leaders of the Year, Mark R. Laurrie, deputy superintendent, Niagara Falls City School District, and Sr. Joan Cronin, former executive director of the Institute for Catholic Education; Counselors of the Year, Monica Romeo, director of counseling services at Niagara; and Leslie Born, mental health counselor with Hamilton Family Health Team; Teachers of the Year, John D. Schneider Jr., Niagara Catholic Junior/Senior High School, and Jessica Folino, West Lane Secondary School, District School Board of Niagara.

Kaitlyn Simmons has received a full year of free tuition at Niagara Catholic Junior/Senior High School. The school recently offered visitors at its open house events an opportunity to win a full year of free tuition. Kaitlyn is a sixth-grade student at Catholic Academy in Niagara Falls, and will be attending seventh grade at Niagara Catholic next school year.
