Army soldiers landed again this morning at Hamburg Town Beach for the second day.

Special forces parachuted out of aircraft.

A C-130 transport also flew over the shore and dropped an inflatable boat.

Hamburg police are controlling access to the area, Hamburg Police Lt. James Koch.

The town notified residents Wednesday through its Code Red emergency notification system that exercises would be taking place. Koch said since this is the first time the town has assisted in such an exercise, officials did not know what to expect, and did not want to have the added duties of crowd control.

“We wanted to make sure what we had first before we had to control spectators,” he said.
